Pineapple Sooji Upma

A Healthy Breakfast which gives you fuel and energy for your whole active day must include all the nutrients. This Indian traditional sooji upma with little twist by adding fruits and cheese on it provides all required nutrients to kick start your day. Try this Pineapple Sooji Upma recipe and make your day healthy!!!

YIELD – 3 persons

Ingredients:

Semolina (Sooji) – 1 cup
Pineapple – 7-8 chunks
Onion – 1 medium chopped
Carrot – 1/2 cup chopped
Green peas – 1/2 cup frozen
Oil – 1 tbsp
Cumin seeds – 1 tsp
Mustard seeds – 1/2 tsp
Urad Dal – 1 tbsp
Salt as per taste
Lemon juice – 1 tbsp
Cheese 1 slice (cut into 4 small cubes from 1 slice)

Method:

Pineapple Sooji Upma
  1. Heat the oil in a pan and add cumin seeds, mustard seeds and urad dal.
  2. Add onion, carrot and peas. Saute for few minutes. Add Pineapple as well.
  3. Add sooji and mix well. Roast it on low flame with veggies until sooji get golden brown. Stir continuously.
  4. Now add 2 cup of water in it. Add salt as well. Mix well and don’t keep it unattended.
  5. Add lemon juice and cook until sooji absorb all water.
  6. Once done serve hot garnish with small cheese slice and pineapple chunk on top.

Note:

Make sure you always attend sooji with spatula while cooking else it may burn easily.
